This museum opened in 1987 to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the port of Kōbe. It retraces its history, explains the way of life of the sailors and the operation of the boats. Visitors discover information about the port as a point of international trade, thanks to interactive screens linked to its global maritime network and ships. Inside, an area is dedicated to Kawasaki Heavy Industries, a historic company producing ships, railways, trains, planes, cars and motorcycles.
