The history of this brewery goes back to 1717. In 1980, the building was labelled a Site of Cultural Importance by the Prefecture. Unfortunately, due to the 1995 earthquake, all the buildings collapsed. In order to keep its label, the brewery rebuilt itself using 50% of materials from the old destroyed buildings and reopened in 1999.
