INCENSE WORKSHOP KUNJUDŌ
Awaji-shima is known to produce 70% of Japan's incense production. Although the activity of the island had long been concentrated on fishing, winters did not allow to go out at sea and therefore had to find a workable activity within the sea. That's how incense production developed. After a brief tour of the factory opened in 1893, a free visit but in Japanese, which allows to discover all the stages of production, possibility to participate in a workshop to manufacture its own incense. Choice of color and scent (more than ten different fragrances, the choice is hard). Then, as with cookies, the paste paste is cut by cutting shapes with the help of a piece. Finally, it will be difficult to leave empty hands from the shop that offers products with more pleasant scents than others: teas, bamboo, orange, chocolate, ginger!
