NUSHIMA ISLAND
For nature and walking enthusiasts (you can walk around the island in about 4 hours), this small island of about 450 inhabitants, accessible by a 10-minute ferry ride, can be an uninteresting stopover. During your visit, you will cross a few houses, some temples and sanctuaries and a rocky peak, lying across the island in the middle of the sea. Some say that it would be the end of Izanagi and Izanumi's spear to mix the sea that would have fallen there. Few catering services are available on the island and it is recommended that you bring your picnic. If you are in the area during the Golden Week, the island hosts a great festival of Danjiris at this time.
