Located not far from the castle, this shop specializes in white leather from Himeji, whose work is immemorial. With the Ikuno silver mine upstream, the Ichi River would arrive in Himeji, loaded with alum. This water was ideal for transforming raw leather into white leather. In the 16th century, this leather was appreciated for the manufacture of samurai armour. Today, it is used to make original wallets and bags. Using stencils, the leather is hand-painted to create colourful patterns before being varnished.
