To the west of the castle, where the samurai resided, nine superb gardens, each with its own style and atmosphere, were laid out in 1992 on 3.5 hectares. During a stroll, it is not rare to come across many couples in kimonos, who have come to immortalize their wedding. In autumn and during the cherry blossom season, the garden opens exceptionally in the evening and sets up illuminations. Not to be missed. The restaurant overlooking the garden is very pleasant and offers simple but delicious traditional Japanese cuisine.

Il faut absolument prendre le temps de visiter ce site qui est la reconstitution d'un ancien quartier de samouraïs (avec de nombreux petits jardins, tous différents). Le site, très calme au regard des hordes qui visitent le château, restitue bien l'ambiance du Japon ancien. De nombreux films historiques sont d'ailleurs tournés dans ces rues. Il existe un billet unique avec le château et cela ne coute que quelques dizaine de yens de plus que le château seul.

On vient a Himeji pour son château mais il ne fait pas rater ce magnifique jardin japonais. Je conseille de prendre le pass à 1.040¥ avec le château qui se situe à côté.

Superbes jardins au pied du château! Cascades , etang de carpes, divers arbres et fleurs agrementent ces jardins. Etant très grand, on a le temps de se balader et d'apprecier le calmequi y regne.
