Opened in 1992, the excellent Nibutani Ainu Culture Museum provides an insight into the traditions of the Ainu people (dances, songs, costumes), with many videos and objects designated as important tangible cultural property. The museum has four collections. A visit to this place gives us an idea of how the people lived in the past and helps us to better understand this culture. Please note that the museum closes every year from December 16 to January 15.
