This small museum has amassed over 30,000 objects of all kinds to recreate what Sado must have been like in the past. The museum was founded by Japanese ethnologist Tsuneichi Miyamoto. It is currently housed in an old wooden schoolhouse dating back to 1920. Among the countless objects on display are fishing tools and boat-building equipment. A restored wooden freight ship (kitamaebune) is on display.
