Godaido is a wooden Buddhist temple that is reached by two vermilion bridges. These bridges are actually quite unusual. There are indeed spaces between the boards! Its foundations date back to the year 807. The present structure was built in the Momoyama architectural style by Date Masamune in 1604. On the curved wooden supports of the four walls, sculptures representing the 12 signs of the Chinese zodiac are arranged in the corresponding direction. The Godaimyo (five Dava kings) were enshrined in them.
