This is the teahouse that "looks at the ripples of the small waves on the sea". Located at the tip of Tsukimizaki Cape, this teahouse is also called the moon gazing residence (tsukimi-tei). It is listed as an important cultural heritage of Japan (Jūyō bunka-zai). The Matsushima Museum has armor, cosmetic tools, calligraphy, and many paintings of the Kanō school. Dwarf pine trees have been planted in a pebble garden.
