Fukuura-bashi is the name of the 252-meter long vermilion bridge that connects the land to the island. This has been converted into a botanical garden where three hundred species of plants are planted. There are several very pleasant paths that offer beautiful views of the surrounding nature and the bay. It takes about an hour to walk around the island, taking into account moments of pause and contemplation. The bridge was damaged in March 2011, but restoration work has erased the traces of it.
