HAGURO-SAN (419 M)
It's the most accessible of the three mountains. From the village, you can reach the summit by bus or on foot, but... 2446 steps await you! The ascent, which takes almost an hour, begins after crossing a large torii. The path is lined with 300- to 500-year-old cedar trees. Note the beautiful 14th-century five-storey pagoda, Gojū-no-tō. You can take a short break in a teahouse offering a beautiful view of the surroundings. Several shrines occupy the summit of Haguro-san, including the Gosaiden, home to the mountain's three deities.
