At 1637m, Mount Komaga-take is one of the highest mountains in the prefecture. The climb to the top will take you a good hour. Once you arrive, you can reach Mount Nyūtō-san (1477 m) and rest in the rustic and scenic Nyūtō-Onsen. This walk should occupy your entire day, so it is more than advisable to leave fairly early in the morning. To get there, take a bus from the Tazawako terminal and get off at Komagatake-Hachigōme after about an hour's ride.
