It is the largest aquarium in the northern part of the archipelago. It overlooks the Sea of Japan. The main attraction is an impressive tank of 800 tons. You can walk through a tunnel located underneath. The impression of being at the bottom of the sea is striking. There are many animals, including polar bears and Hatahata (sand sail fish), the fish of Akita Prefecture. There are daily performances with dolphins and sea lions. You can have lunch there and enjoy the view of the sea.
