NAGANO PREFECTURAL SHINANO ART MUSEUM

This museum, built in 1966 in a beautiful park with trees, displays works by Higashiyama Kaii. This artist, who died in 1999, was a lover of Nagano and its region. The museum is very pleasant, and some of the works are exceptional. Most of them are made by artists born in Nagano prefecture or who have a link with it. The building, adjacent to Zenkoji Temple, blends into the landscape, creating a harmony with the surrounding nature.
