HOKUSAI-KAN
Established in 1976, this museum exhibits, among other things, woodcuts, hanging scrolls and two delicately portable shrines. In this museum, you can appreciate the collection of thirty prints by Hokusai. Hokusai Katsushika was the master of ukiyo-e, a Japanese genre of painting and woodblock printing, whose most prolific period was between the late 17th and late 19th centuries. The works are admirably preserved and you can judge the freshness of the colours. This visit should be combined with a visit to the temple.
