It is in this village that the shukubō (lodgings at the temples) are found. Every fortnight in the evening, dai-dai Kagura (Shinto dances) commemorate Ame no Omoi Kane no Mikoto, a rival goddess to Amarterasu, goddess of the Sun. You can also visit Togakushi Shrine which is located at the entrance of the village. The Chusha Shrine is located in the middle of the spiritual path that climbs to Mount Togakushi. The prayer hall and the sacred trees, which are more than 800 years old, offer a beautiful setting in the middle of beautiful nature.
