This villa was built in 1863 by the 13th Maeda (Nariyasu Maeda) for his mother. It is located in the Kenrokuen Garden. High quality techniques were used for the construction, especially for the pillars and the inner walls. There are beautiful furniture, graceful designs, painted shōji , or dolls used for the "Hinamatsuri" doll festival. The ceiling of the audience hall, which is called "Ekken-no-ma", allows us to learn more about the life of the Maeda clan.
