In this traditional house, south of Atsuta Shrine, you will taste eel dishes. Their specialty is hitsumabushi. It is a kind of sandwich of eel and rice in a rectangular box which is eaten in three steps. This dish is famous for the inhabitants of the city, who are very amused when a Tokyoite tries to pronounce it. He will inevitably say " himatsubushi " ("wasted time"!) instead of " hitsumabushi ". There is another branch of this famous restaurant on the 10th floor of the Matsuzakaya department store.
