The Ni-no-maru Garden was the largest garden in Japan, and was enjoyed by the successive lords of Nagoya Castle, adjoining the living quarters of a lord. In the early 18th century, the garden was transformed into a walking garden with lawns and dry stone gardens. It has its own teahouse and is a remnant of a feudal garden. In the northwestern garden, there is a burial vault from the Kofun period (large burial mounds from the late 3rd to early 8th centuries).
