It is the most famous site in the city. This temple stands proudly on the top of the mountain overlooking the city, revealing its vermilion structures to travelers in a most beautiful way. It is said to have been founded by Kobo Daishi in 806. The temple was built in harmony with the rocky massifs of the mountain. From the various viewpoints offered by the place, one takes pleasure in admiring the city and its surroundings below. Special mention should be made of the park located just above Senko-ji. You can take a cable car to climb to the top.
