If you're an oyster lover, this is the temple of shellfish restaurants on the island of Miyajima. Oysters are served in a variety of ways, from raw with a little soy sauce, vinegar, lemon and wasabi, to grilled, frittered or curried... The establishment has remained a family affair for over 60 years. If you're on a tight budget, try the kaki-meshi (oysters placed on rice impregnated with the mollusks'umami ) for ¥1300. Bear in mind that there are only oysters on the menu!
