The Yamaguchi Saikotei is a cultural exchange institution. It was originally a restaurant, the Gion-saiko-tei, opened in 1878. It was moved to its present location in 1996. It is a historical building that bears witness to the history of modern Japan. There are calligraphy works of ten Japanese prime ministers and objects related to important people who have been received in this house. There is also a beautiful Japanese-style garden, established in 1925. You can rent bicycles and kimonos.
