This shrine was dedicated to the child emperor Antoku, who perished in the naval battle mentioned in the introduction to the city. The shrine is located on Mount Benishi-yama. It houses the tombs of the young emperor and seven important people of the Taira family. Do not miss the Suitenmon gate, very impressive and rather unusual for the country. The temple is located 3 km east of the station. To get there, just take a bus towards Hinoyama and get off at the Akama-Jingū-mae stop.
