Taikodani Inari-Jinja is one of the largest shrines dedicated to Inari in Japan and many people come here to worship. It is reached by passing under 1,200 red torii that have given this place the nickname of the little Kyōtō of the West. Visitors can enjoy these lovely torii during the 15-minute walk to the shrine. It was built for the purpose of praying for the peace and safety of the castle as well as for the happiness of the people of Tsuwano.
