If you take the Via Dolorosa, you can reach Yomeiji, a Zen temple of the Sōtō-shû sect, founded in 1420, so it is the oldest Zen temple in Shimane Prefecture. It houses the tombs of Ōgai Mori (novelist), Kichizo Nakamura (playwright), and the daymio Dewa Sakazadi and also has a beautiful garden. The landscape of the latter can be enjoyed in all seasons, especially in spring, with the water lilies in summer and with the glowing foliage in autumn. The main building of the temple has a completely thatched roof.
