This castle was built in 1295, but only a few ruins remain. In 1600, the daimyo Skazaki took over as lord of the castle and decided to build an outer keep on top of a 200-meter high mountain north of the castle. The keep continued to be used until 1878, when it was destroyed. From the top of the hill, the view of the surroundings is splendid. The scattered ruins follow the ridge. Next to the chairlift leading to the castle is the Taikodani-Inari-Jinja, one of the largest shrines dedicated to Inari.
