There are several sites of interest located south of Tonomachi. The Morijuku Art Museum is an old farmhouse converted into a contemporary art gallery. The building was once used as a sake cellar and the Yae family lived there in the 17th century. Goya's bullfighting etchings and paintings by Akira Nakao and Maya Yoshiura can also be seen here. Further south are the beautiful residences of Amane Nishi, who played an important role in the Meiji Restoration, and the writer Ōgai Mori.
