YAKUMOAN
This soba restaurant is located in an old samurai house, with a Japanese garden and a bamboo grove, between the Buke Yashiki samurai house and the Tanabe Art Museum. The food is excellent and the place is really exotic. With a reservation (the tourist office can take care of it), you can have access to the most beautiful room, in an old Edo building, which overlooks a small pond full of carp (extra charge in this case, but it's worth it). The other room, although nice and friendly, does not offer the same panorama.
