They are the glory of Tottori. All the more so since in 1964 the film La Femme de sable, shot by Hiroshi Teshiga- hara, gave the city a definitive notoriety. The Tottori dunes are the largest wavy dunes in the country. They allow for many activities such as paragliding or sandboard. They extend over more than 10 km and make the parapentistes joy envolant at any breeze.

Facile d'accès en bus depuis la gare la visite de ce site naturel permet une belle balade d'une demie journée. La marche dans le sable est parfois difficile avec le vent.
Surtout ne pas oublier le musée avec ses sculptures de sable.
