This 290 m high volcanic formation offers a magnificent panoramic view of the inland sea. By day and by night, the landscape is breathtaking. It is recommended to go there at sunset to appreciate all the lights. Yashima keeps in memory the famous battles that took place between the Taira and the Minamoto in 1185. Until the Edo period, Yashima was an island and a central communication point between Shikoku and Honshu. Yashima-dera is said to have been built by the monk Ganjin in 754. You can rent a bicycle there.
