If you're in the Tokushima area in spring, a visit to the Matsushima Senbonzakura is highly recommended. During the sakura blossom season, you can admire some 1,000 cherry trees. The atmosphere is enchanting, and made all the more relaxing by the fact that dairy cows graze among the trees. The best time to visit is between late March and early April. You can get there by car, about 45 minutes from JR Tokushima station, or by bus 47 from Itano station, getting off at the Kajiyahara stop.
