Mount Bizan, at 290 meters high, is the symbol of the city of Tokushima. It overlooks the entire region, and on a clear day you can see the island of Awaji to the north and the Kii Peninsula to the east. Mount Bizan can be reached on foot from the train station via a wide palm-lined avenue in 10 minutes. The base of the cable car is at Sanroku station on the 5th floor of the Awaodori Kaikan. The ascent takes 6 minutes. There are a few places of interest waiting for the visitor, but it is the walk and the panorama that are the most charming.
