This very picturesque market, one of the most important in the country, has lasted for three centuries. It takes place every Sunday on Otesuji, the street that leads to the castle. It is 1.3 km long. Among the 300 stalls, you can find handicrafts, crockery, beautiful knives, fruit and vegetables, take-away food stalls... Food plays an important role. You can try imoten (freshly fried sweet potato tempura ), yuzu-based drinks and sweets and tiny sweet "fruit tomatoes".
