This nice little museum preciously preserves 23 Byobu-é (screen paintings) of the painter Kinzo (called Ekin of his artist name). Kinzo was born in 1804. He was a member of the Kano group. In 1829, on the recommendation of his teacher, he went to Edo to study drawing. He was introduced as a painter at the Edo Enshi castle and became a master in only 3 years. His paintings depict Kabuki and samurai scenes. Violent and very cruel, but extremely beautiful, they are considered true masterpieces.
