For 600 meters, there are traditional houses dating from the end of the Edo era, the Meji era, the Taisho era and the beginning of the Showa era. Some houses have been renovated into inns. If this street has kept its charm, souvenir shops and museums have become over the years the main attractions. Note the old sake brewery and the Moribun Amazake Chaya Tea house. The most beautiful house on the street is unfortunately not open to the public. Built in 1884, the Hon Haga-tei leaves only its garden to the public eye.
