Niji-No-Matsubara is more than 4 kilometers long and about 1 kilometer wide, and is an impressive sight with more than 1 million old pines, mainly Japanese black pines, planted along the sea route. This forest, which covers 240 hectares, is said to be more than 360 years old. Campgrounds, a youth hostel, a folk hostel (Kokumin Shukusha) and hotels invite travelers to stay and enjoy themselves. It can be seen from the top of Mount Kagami Observatory.
