This small street market is specialized in seafood, especially squid. Its origin dates back to the Taisho period (1912-1926). It is one of the three largest morning markets in the archipelago, along with Wajima in Ishikawa and Takayama in Gifu. About 50 stalls open along the 200 meters of Asaichi-dori street. You will find a lot of seafood, but also processed foods, vegetables, fruits and flowers. It is a pleasure to listen to the energetic voices of the stallholders.
