The Confucian shrine Kōshi-byō is a Chinese shrine dedicated to the ancient philosopher Confucius. It is easy to see the glaring difference, in terms of architecture and representations, between Chinese and Japanese shrines. Badly damaged in 1945, it was completely renovated in 1982. The contrast is striking (ornaments, colors...). Behind it is the China Historical Museum which hosts exhibitions of the Beijing History Museum.
