The park, located north of Hypocentre Park, commemorates the explosion of the atomic bomb. It was designed by the Japanese sculptor Kitamura Seibo in 1955, as well as the statue of Peace which, by pointing to the sky with its right hand, symbolically indicates the origin of the bomb. In the nearby Hypocentre Park, a black column marks the spot where the bomb exploded and some ruins can be seen, including those of the Urakami Cathedral. If you visit the site on August 9, you can participate in a memorial ceremony.
