SUIZENJI JOJUEN GARDEN
The park was designed in 1632 by Tadatoshi Hosokawa (1586-1641). One can appreciate the reproduction of the 53 stages of the Tōkaidō and the miniaturization of Mount Fuji. The tea pavilion was brought from Kyōto in 1912. This garden is ideal for walking, especially around the pond, fed by the waters of nearby Mount Aso. Several small sites of interest punctuate the visit, such as the Inari Shrine and its vermilion doors or the Kokindenju no Ma, a 400-year-old building with a thatched roof. Don't hesitate to enjoy a matcha tea.
