This Korean Sutra Pavilion was originally built in 1502. It is dedicated to the deity of music, knowledge, art and beauty. The deity represents everything that flows easily, such as music. It was destroyed by the Satsuma troops in 1609. Restored, it was destroyed again in 1945 by a bomb during the battle of Okinawa. The last restoration was done in 1968. The bridge on the island is Tennyo Bridge, also called Kanren-bashi.
