SHURI-JŌ
Formerly the capital of Okinawa, Shuri gave way to Naha in 1879 during the Meiji Restoration. In the 15th century, Shuri-jō Castle was built by Hashi, Daimyō of Sashiki, who overthrew the throne of the king of Okinawa. He put his father in power and succeeded him in 1421. The castle was destroyed in the bombings of 1944 and 1945, as the Japanese army set up its headquarters in this part of the city. The castle today is a reconstruction and is the main tourist attraction. On October 31, 2019, a fire destroyed part of it.

Ceci dit, lorsque l'on visite Naha, la visite au chateau est pratiquement "obligatoire".
Attention aux serpents dans le parc. Des panneaux vous mettrons d'ailleurs en garde.
