This shop is a museum and a weaving workshop. In the past, young women in Yaeyama used to weave belts with a particular design that signified unity, as a gift to their future husbands. The recognizable design has been preserved, and it is now found on handbags and clothing that have even made the cover of fashion magazines or been featured in runway shows in Paris. You can try your hand at the looms and leave with your work.
