HÔTEL RESTAURANT DE LA POSTE
Hotel-restaurant offering solid cuisine with efficient service
It's impossible to miss the Hôtel Restaurant de la Poste: the blue façade in the middle of the village is worth more than any signpost. Inside, it's the same thing: the colors are the first thing you notice: yellow walls, orange tablecloths and a red bar! This village restaurant welcomes locals as well as workers and executives (with customers from all walks of life, giving it a friendly cosmopolitan image) who work at the nearby Fessenheim nuclear power plant. There's nothing to worry about, though, as the food seems perfectly healthy and just as colorful as the surroundings. Specialties include beer-braised knuckle of pork, poultry cordon bleu with Munster cheese or, more rarely, pork cheek knuckle confit with pinot noir and homemade spätzlés. When it comes to desserts, even the home-made tarts are in tune with the colors, like the wide chocolate stripes in the middle of the apple tart - a pleasant surprise! Solid cuisine with efficient, friendly service.
