THE POACHER'S TRAIL
Go there and contact
The «Piste Trail» is a circular hike, starting from the St. Asaph car park. We follow the bed of the Elwy river, which fed the old mill, one of which is still visible. We will always be able to see straight away, on its right, a small trail hidden beneath the trees and leading to very old stone staircases, known in the village under the name "Forty Steps" (the forty steps). Once at the top, turn left and go up to the junction. Once you have crossed the A 5, go straight to the pen-y-Bryn farm to reach the pedestrian bridge. You will appreciate the panoramic view of the west side, where you can see The Marble Church, a church dedicated to St Marguerite, and the castle of Bodelwyddan. Just after the bridge, on the left, starts a trail that runs along the Elwy river, peuplée and on which we also occasionally cross herons! Following this river, the bridge leads to the main road of the village. There is a pub and picnic area for the end of the trip.
