Of the thirteen monasteries owned by Suzdal in the Middle Ages, only five remain, of which this one, founded in the 15th century, is the largest and richest. In the former monks' cells, craftwork (wood carvings, naive paintings, weavings, etc.) is now on display. Opposite, in the old refectory church, various treasures of Souzdal are exhibited, cult objects in gold or silver, icon coverings and numerous embroideries.
