This charming monastery with its typical architecture is one of the major buildings of the town of Souzdal. Not only because the most beautiful town hall has been built here, but also because of its historical interest, as many Czarines stayed here more or less of their own free will and are now buried in the necropolis. Peter the Great repudiated his wife there, as did Basil III, and Ivan the Terrible, who sent his second and then sixth wives there.

The Intercession Convent is a abbey located on the right bank of the Kamenka River, north of the town of Souzdal, it is reserved for women. The main monument is the cathedral of the Intercession of the Virgin. The building is surrounded by open galleries on four sides and the portals are very decorated.
