This convent (СВЯТО-УСПЕНСКИЙ КНЯГИН МОНАСТЫРЬ) is one of the most picturesque places in the old town. Dedicated to the Virgin, it was founded at the beginning of the 13th century. Its best-preserved monument is the beautiful Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin. The present building, made of whitewashed brick, with four pillars and a dome, dates from the end of the 15th century. The main treasure of the cathedral, highlighted by its beautiful luminosity, consists of beautiful 17th century mural paintings, made under the direction of Marc Liatveev.
