A few dozen lakes are connected by a sophisticated system of canals, some of which were dug in the 16th century and others in the early 20th century, before the Solovki lost their religious function. From the nautical centre, two boat trips are possible: a large loop (6 lakes, 9 km) or a small loop (5 lakes, 5 km). It is a unique opportunity to see the island from the inside, to get as close as possible to its lush vegetation to observe its very diverse fauna (fish and birds in particular). In good weather, not to be missed.
